Yeah frick that. I saw aoki for like $30 last year.
Same here. Whenever you get a chance to see a big name like that that's globally known for that cheap, you almost have to go. I don't remember the opening acts, but it wasn't just him.

I don't mind a bit of dubstep mixed into a more upbeat song (ie drum step) but just woooomp vibrations kinda bore me.
When they were doing shows at the CAC, I didn't mind going to that little back area where they were doing hardcore dubstep. Not for long periods but a little bit wasn't so bad.

Unless you enjoy having cake thrown on you. Sorry I hate Aoki,

I went to his show last year at Sugar Mill and I have to say it was one of the worst show's i've been to. He literally just runs around on stage and throws energy drinks, champagne and cake at people. There was nothing cool about his set, it was all preprogrammed in, with him doing no actual mixing.

Donnie my guess. Theyve been here before, not a huge deal imo.

Wait, was this during mardi gras?

I get that, but they're considered in the top echelon by many across the globe. You would think they would be a headliner at a big time festival or event, not just doing a random show. I'd put them above Calvin Harris and he's one of the headliners at Buku Fest.

The time I'm talking about was just a random Sunday. I want to say it was sometime in May.

It just sucks that if he was behind it and able to get them here for that, we should be able to do some other stuff throughout the year.

I've never been. Couldn't tell you.

Doesn't seem like something I would enjoy.

i just dont think its worth it for him to put on a bunch of shows in nola anymore. better to do stuff out of state financial wise probably. nola had a great run for awhile. sucks that to really see what i want to see(good drum and bass), i have to go out of state.

here are some of the stuff he is doing

would you rather go listen to a dj you like or go listen to some random guy play while you have glow in the dark paint all over you?

I'm familiar with the site. I rarely check it, though. Rather not be aware of all the things I'm missing out on.

Good point. I've never actually been to a paint party and my friends always try to get me to go so I was just wondering

They are normally closed on Sundays, but last year Above and Beyond did a random show there one Sunday night, so the only people there were people that knew Above and Beyond was there. Didn't have to deal with any of the regular Friday/Saturday night crowd. They did a 3 hour set and it was incredible.

Yes! That was the only time I had ever been to Ampersand and it was something I will never forget as A&B is my favorite. It was only Tony but there probably weren't over 100 people there. Even though it was on a Sunday (the night Bin Laden was killed) I was stunned at the pathetic turnout. Still had an amazing time and the show didn't end till about 4. Wierd feeling on a Monday morning to say the least. Oh, and tickets were only $12.
