I recommend peyote. Like 6, 7 or 8 big fresh buttons. But they have to be fresh and a bit soft, like a big toad in your hand.

I met an Indian, a guy named Israel, or that's what he called himself. He'd drive from Arizona to Santa Barbara, where I lived, and sell me a couple hundred at a time, a couple of burlap bags filled with the nastiest, gnarliest buttons in God's creation.

Pick out the tufts of strychnine, chew 'em, swallow the juices, puke awhile ... then it's showtime.

It makes you feel like a wolf or a mountain lion, only with a highly developed sense of humor, on account of you laugh a lot.

Plus really strange shite--I mean unexplainably weird shite--always happens when you're high on the button.

Best to take it out in nature, away from people--away from everything for that matter.
