19 years ago today Phish played my favorite version of one of the least favorite Phish songs

12/14/95 Halley's Comet

Trey gets into this little riff/jam off a riff halfway through the jam and it goes from there. Gets pretty intense, then awesome 1995 type II craziness follows, then > NICU

There are longer and crazier Halley's Comets, but this one has always been my favorite.

and one more for tomorrow cause I'm bored

12/15/99 Free

One of those '99 jams where Trey uses the extra keyboard. Pretty much just a groove oriented jam with Page and Trey both noodling on keys and Mike dropping bombs.

Like a lot of 1999 stuff its um...kind of long and boring. But it's a pretty unique sounding jam and gets pretty funky in some parts. I also like the stuff Trey does when he gets back on the guitar about 3/4 the way through it.

Excellent post, D-Dog. It is certainly one of the best Halley's with 11.22.97 and 12.7.99 (my personal pick) rounding out the holy trinity.

Also I'd like to point out the Tweezer->Timber->Tweezer sando earlier in the set. Great segues and some serious hose going on. The whole 12.14.95 is just incredible. One of the very best from quite possibly their greatest month.

Seriously? Do you even Joe Russo's Almost Dead, bro? Get all of their SBDs off archive immediately. They have absolutely "crushed it" this year. Probably the band I want to see the most right now.

Oh ok I didn't put it together that he was with JR. In that case I've heard my fair share.

frick I was supposed to go, none of my friends were excited about though. They all fawn over cheese like the Melvin's on here and no cheese and no panic means sux to them.
