Not much happening on disc 1 for me, Candyman is great and I'm thinking Terrapin is too, but the album really picks up on d2 and d3. Don't give up because there are some gems in there.

Cumberland, Bird Song, Dark Star>Nightfall>Transitive, Stella, Help, Franklin's, Here Comes Sunshine, Shakedown, Brown-Eyed Women, Jack, Althea, Clementine, China>Rider, Wharf Rat, Estimated, Drums>Space, all blew me away.

What disappointed me: The War on Drugs – Touch of Grey, I enjoy both of these things but do not care for this. Truckin', Love MD and expected something really out there, but this went nowhere for me. Lucinda, too slow and just drags IMO. All The National songs too. But the one song I really wanted to hear was a tricked out, uptempo, over the moon, avant garde version of Mountains of the Moon and Lee is on acoustic for 3:53, I am disappoint.

Thanks. Yeah, I tried searching for it in Spotify and just got a 5 song preview. I guess this will be my work music for the day.

I'm liking Disc 1 so far.

I'm still working my way through it, but man, I'd be happy with Bonnie "Prince" Billy and Phosphorescent singing on every song. Their voices really fit this music well.

That Standing on the Moon by Phosphorescent is greatness.

Just went through first listen, on second run now.

The Good :
St. Stephen, Russo's Dark Star/Nightfall Of Diamonds, Clementine Jam, Rubin and Cherise, Franklin's Tower

The Meh (disappointing or weak):
Touch of Grey, China Cat Sunflower

The Bad :
Peggy-O, Friend of the Devil, Easy Wind

The Ugly :
Truckin', Cream Puff War

Other thoughts:
-I don't necessarily hate the National, but didn't need to hear them on seemingly every other song
-Could have used a Samson and Delilah, especially with a coed duo, but you can't have everything in life
-Seemed like a lot of bands felt the pressure to go out of their way to experiment with the songs in their own style (eg, Flaming Lips), more than they needed to.

IMO
