They played 2.5 last Jazz Fest they were at. They were doing a special live stream to the Troops though.

Van Morrison is just starting a small tour of the US that currently ends in Boston in late April, so him at JF is doable. And, I was there when he performed at JF about 5 years ago - was fantastic.

Art Neville, George Porter Jr., Leo Nocentelli and Joseph “Zigaboo” Modeliste will reunite as The Original Meters on Friday, April 22 at the Orpheum Theater in New Orleans. The pioneering funk outfit will be joined by special guest Ivan Neville, as well as a horn section comprised of Tracy Griffin, Jeff Albert, Khris Royal and Clarence Johnson III.
A limited number of pre-sale tickets for the reunion show will go on sale tomorrow, January 13 at 10am CT. The code for the pre-sale will be “CARDOVA” (make sure you use all caps). Tickets will then go on sale to the general public on Friday, January 15 at 10am CT via the Orpheum Theater. Additionally, tickets will be available on site beginning two hours priors to the performance, though those tickets will be subject to availability.

The Original Meters played at last year's JF and were great. Not sure about $80, though, especially since its very likely they will play JF again this year.

I'll be at the Word again, hopefully RR has two functioning hands this year even though it was still fun as hell last year.
I just want to get in to the Orpheum at least once to see it so I may have to go to that meters show. Although its too early for me to make any decisions (other than JRAD cause I'll be at both shows if they do two again).
