Great show, filmed in Chicago in 1974, featuring Professor Longhair, Dr. John, The Meters and Earl King. I remember seeing the same show in 1975 at (of all places) the St. bernard Civic Center. Enjoy:

Funk yeah

I listened to Cabbage Alley last night. Although the title track gets some love, the rest of that album is criminally underrated. I think it is The Meters' second best album after Rejuvenation.

Yeah, Rejuvenation and Cabbage Alley are great albums. Not sure I would rate Cabbage ahead of Fire on the Bayou, but I love them all.

Sweet coincidence last night - Papa Gros All Stars opened the show with You've Got To Change (You've Got to Reform), the first track on Cabbage Alley. Smoking version taboot.

Missed you - was there, too. Gros really has improved his chops since he put Papa Grows Funk on hiatus. Don't get me wrong, I loved that band and miss hearing them. But, Gros has really gotten better since he decided to end it.
