Mates, it's so bittersweet - Coldplay passed U2 for "greatest band on the planet" during the "Viva La Vida" tour in 2009 and then delivered (in my opinion) two good but not great albums in "Mylo Xyloto" and "Ghost Stories".

Hard to believe that they're calling it quits (albeit with one last album and hopefully a long world tour), a tough pill to swallow to be sure.

Here is some new information on "A Head Full of Dreams":

We’ve heard multiple rumours over the past few months. India, Italy and Turkey have been largely tipped as countries Coldplay will travel to, while Brazil is looking extremely likely to host a Coldplay concert, with a famous Brazilian reporter ‘confirming’ gigs in March-April, while the president of the Gremio Arena revealed on-going negotations to bring the British four piece to Porto Alegre. Now, Coldplaying understands that the band are in the process of booking ‘at least one show’ in London, United Kingdom by the end of the year. Nothing has been confirmed as of yet but as with everything tour related, please wait for an announcement on Coldplay’s official website before making any plans.

Chris Martin got his fill of Jennifer Lawrence and has a tasty new bird - Annabelle of "Peaky Binders" fame. Here they are - dude is becoming a John Mayer type with his collection of celebs he's banged.

I'm kind of surprised he's ending Coldplay now that he's pretty much learned how to pump and dump the most famous women in the world.

Obv he can go solo and do the Sting thing if he wants, but that doesn't seem as much fun as being in a band to me.

They are not calling it quits. Martin has repeatedly stated that they approach every album as if it were their last so that they put all their energy into making it. The media just takes a quote and runs with it to make a headline and get clicks.

I'm a huge Coldplay fan. Having said that, the last two albums have been underwhelming. If they can go back to their roots, the album will be great.

I like Coldplay, but Chris Martin isn't even close to Sting's level.

100 years from now people will be listening to songs by the Police. I doubt they will be listening to Coldplay.

You're an idiot if you think Coldplay is better than U2. Even they would agree

They're not better than U2 in a historical context, mate - they're just making better music these past 15 years than U2
