That had the Scorpions opening and also a then VERY unknown Def Leppard back when they kicked arse for real and they were all in their teens. Pretty sure they had just stepped onto US soil for the first time.
Would LOVE to have seen Def Leppard then. Pete Willis. You're right. They used to totally kick arse before turning to shite.
The Scorpions were incredible too in their early days. MUCH more raw than I bet most people realize. Virgin Killer. And that was actually their third release. Hard to believe they started all the way back in '72. They totally lost me though when Rock You Like A Hurricane came out. And I bought the live album too. Worldwide Live. Was SO disappointed in it. Was so cleaned up it sounded like a studio album with a crowd track.

One of my favorite memories from my highschool days...that ended up being an epic adventure. Guy who was driving got into a fender-bender in rush hour traffic on I-10 about 5 miles out of NOLA, me and the other two guys left him there and hitched a ride on an Orleans Parish school bus to within a few blocks of the Superdome...our seats ended up right next to some guys from our hometown of Bay Minette AL (population 7500)....after a fantastic show, we met up with our driver at La Strada on St Louis St in the Vieux Carre, and found him sharing a bottle of Chivas with Clarence "Frogman" Henry and his band in between sets...spent the rest of the night drinking at the band table while a trio of Puerto Rican hookers flirted with us...
One of the best nights of my life...

I have about 70 of them from 1984-1994 that I have stashed in an envelope in a container at the top of the closet--this makes me want to dig them out and figure a way to matte and frame them for my home office.
One of the guys in our audiophile circle owns Lakeside Camera and Imaging in Metairie, and he has begun to create custom doormats made from old ticket stubs...it's really neat seeing Grateful Dead, Iron Maiden, Ratt, Van Halen, etc. ticket stubs from Keifer UNO Lakefront Arena blown up to 24"x36" doormats!
I am having a couple done for me--Grateful Dead (1988) and Ratt (1988)

The Toto show was backed up by Head East, who I really wanted to see.
And he thought there'd never been any reason, to see Toto.
Ha! No it wasn't funny
