appreciate the suggestions
the death metal isn't quite my thing (maybe the term headbanger is misused here)

Try anything from Machine Head. It'll get you banging. Especially The Blackening album.

Heavier than what you have listed, but this list should get the juices flowing. Use this for your deadlift day...off the top of my head.

Lamb of God - Laid To Rest
Lamb of God - The Faded Line
Lamb of God - More Time to Kill
Lamb of God - Broken Hands
Meshuggah - Obzen
Meshuggah - Bleed
Killswitch Engage - In Due Time
Killswitch Engage - The New Awakening
Killswitch Engage - End of Heartache
All That Remains - The Air That I Breathe
All That Remains - Chiron
All That Remains - This Calling
Pantera - Im Broken
Pantera - Mouth For War
Pantera - 5 Minutes Alone
Chimaira - Lazarus
Chimaira - Blood Lust
Chimaira - Salvation
Chimaira - Destroy and Dominate
Slayer - South of Heaven

None of this is too extreme and is approachable considering the list you posted, but is definitely a notch up on the heaviness scale. Compared to what you've been listening to, this should make you want to punch a wall.

Killing in the Name - Rage Against the Machine

If you like this stuff, try Killswitch. Alive or Just Breathing and Daylight Dies are their best albums IMO.

Deftones - try White Pony and Adrenaline, both great records

Anything by Sevendust, but their style/sound varies a lot though

Shadows Fall - The War Within (album)

Atreyu - The Curse (album)

Metallica, Spineshank, All That Remains. Unless I'm doing cardio, then I'll usually listen to NIN and Tool.

Lots of good suggestions listed here. I also like to throw in some of the Mars Volta and At the Drive In heavier stuff, like:

ATDI- Arcarsenal
MV- Goliath

Cannibal corpse- fricked with a knife, rancid amputation, hammer smashed face, I cum blood, decency defied, eviceration plague, entrails ripped from a virgin's count.

Pretty good playlist if you ask me.
