People who like music hate the Black Keys? News to me.

Mumford aren't horrible as a band, they just failed to do something, anything different. Babel was bad. There are worse though.

Yes, because the music industry is quite busy pushing blues-rock bands from the midwest. Heck, the Keys would likely be MORE successful in an earlier era of the music industry, when the record companies actually still signed bands like the Keys.

I do prefer their rough early stuff. But I like rough, dirty music. But I can appreciate that the Keys were a small, independent band putting out a music totally out of step with the mainstream on a label no one had heard of. The fact they have become one of the biggest rock bands in the world is a historical accident and, frankly, kind of cool. They are just an old fashioned white boy blues band.

I do find it funny their big break was their worst album, but I think their last albums have sounded closer to Rubber Factory than Attack and Release. And Rubber Factory is f'n awesome. But I also don't expect them to be 25 anymore.

Game. Set. Match.

Black Keys are great. They aren't really pushing limits anymore, just playing solid rock music. And one of the few doing that to a wide audience.

I remember seeing the Kings of Leon at Bonnaroo '07 before they got big. They still fricking sucked then.

that's a shame, I saw them in 04-05 3 times and they were really good.

because of the times came out in 07, and that was the start of their decline IMO
