I'll be up in Nashville to see these guys on NYE this year.

I don't know much about them other than the SO saying she has been into them as of late.

The only thread I saw in here that really talked about them compared them to The Revivalists (who I like ) so I'm guessing they are kind of like a gateway band to jam band type music?

Also, what should I expect with the venue? The pictures make it seem similar to The Fox in Boulder or The Grenada in Dallas. Is it one of those places where I have to use the exact same bartender the entire night? Is the booze expensive or average? Are the restrooms (mainly womens rr) a disaster or will it be ok to use them if the need arises? Is smoking allowed inside the building?

Any info would be much appreciated

You'll have a good time. War Memorial is a cool venue. Not a bad spot/seat in the house.

Bar upstairs and downstairs. Bathrooms downstairs and won't have a problem. Smoking only outside.

They are a lot like Kings of Leon. Enough said...

The opener, All Them Witches, is drastically better than them. I highly suggest you catch all of their set.

I've seen Moon Taxi twice and had a blast both times. Once at Marathon Music Works and once at Bonnarroo.

Moon Taxi is the best faux-jam frat band since Dave Matthews Band.

what? other then being based out of nashville, how are they a lot like each other?

Moon Taxi put on a great fricking show. They are one of my favorite live bands.

The opener is also badass, All Them Witches.

I agree, alot like KOL. huge vocals and choruses on both, heavy guitar rifts but very melodic. Moon taxis lead vocals are are little higher pitched making it easier, lighter listening. Moon taxi also has a more southern rock sound to me.
I knew a girl who loved KOL. and when we saw MT live she Didnt know who they were. She said the same thing and we didnt see her the rest of the show, she was ftont row.

LINK the new black could be a KOL song

Dont listen to the Revivalist much, but they seem more bluesy, traditional band, not as catchy hooks. MT uses synths and electronic sounds also, where Revivalist stick to a steel guitar.

you can look at a lot of band's catalogues and say song X could be band Y song.

KoL and Moon Taxi are not that much alike, especially in concert.
