Anyone in the Birmingham area aware of any good open mic nights? I've been looking for one since Courtyard Southside and Gilley's both stopped their's, but I've had no luck. Any help is appreciated.

Marty's in Southside used to do one on Tuesdays when I lived there. they might still have one.

I know Pale Eddies Pour House has one as well.

You just missed an open mic series at the Barking Kudu that was put on by Scott Register's online radio station BHAM Mountain Radio

I've played at Pale Eddies a few times. Good people.

Going to have to check that one out. I see from their website that this is on Wednesdays. Do you know what time it starts? Does it draw a decent crowd or are you playing to an empty bar?

Their website says they're a piano bar, and they have "Audition Night" on Tuesdays. Is this a piano themed open mic, or do they allow guitar players as well? Isn't that the cash only bar in Southside?

Thanks for the responses, yall. Looking for these through a random Google search has been very unfruitful.

Its changed since I went. But yeah it can be guitar. You have to bring all of your own equipment and contact Marty for a spot.

That sounds too serious for me, but I might look into it.
