Yea 90s were great. MTV classic played 90 hours of 90s hip hop this past weekend. Needless to say my dvr is now full.

I went to HS in Virginia, but am born in NJ. There was a radio show every Thursday night hosted in NYC, and my buddies would all pop a blank tape in their cassette players and record the show.

The Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Show. SandBShow

One of my friends would mail me the tape, and I'd have the freshest mix.

Outside of Mad Skillz, VA didn't really have any great rappers on the scene (Clipse is a few years away). So we mostly listened to the NY'ers, Nas, Big, Wu, Smif-N-Wessun. Outkast was just about to get really big. Groups like the Hiero Fam in Cali, Souls of Mischief mainly. So many fights w/ friends about how you were soft if you preferred ATCQ, De La, and Common instead of Mobb Deep, Kool G Rap and RA The Rugged.

Apologies if I derailed the thread.
