Had plans to see Wyatt Flores and Flatland Cavalry this Saturday (plus 2 other acts) but it was cancelled due to "unforeseen circumstances." Any ideas what's up with that? It wasn't very widely promoted from what saw.

The Red Dirt and Texas Country acts don't seem to do too well in South Louisiana.

Bummer - I passed on a couple of midweek concerts (Mt. Joy and Charles Wesley Godwin) thinking I'd scratch my music itch this weekend. I heard CWG put on a great show as always, but it's a shame his show wasn't a sellout.

Will be in Dallas the next couple days and may catch Shakey Graves at the Longhorn Ballroom Thursday or wander around Deep Ellum.

Our local demographics don't fit this music. Unfortunate.

bands like southall have played the varsity this year and packed it out. red dirt/texas country does pretty well in BR. better than nola IMO.

What's the capacity of Lamar Dixon vs. The Varsity?

I assume Flatland Costs a lot more to book than Southall. More expensive bookings need more ticket sales or higher ticket prices.

I saw flatland open for Parker McCollum at the expo center a couple years back.

It’s likely flatland doesn’t drive sales as the headliner for a venue as big as the expo center . I have no doubt they could pack a varsity theatre / Texas club though

5k vs 800. you're not going to pack out the expo center unless you're a big mainstream act. flatland is still a mid level band IMO

Lamar isn’t a bad venue to see a show, whisky myers rocked and Bailey Zimmerman before that, BUT it SUCKS getting in and out of there.
