KoL / BTE this weekend in NOLA

I went all in on KoL tix. I had 8 tix in the first 4 rows, a limo, etc. I have seen KoL 3 times, once in 2007 at HOB NOLA - which was an amazing show, the other time at Jazz fest - I think in 2009 or 2010. The JF show and the one this weekend were really - boring.
The played well, but they were disengaged.
BTE at the HOB for their charity deal was awesome. They played awesome and were entertaining. Matt Nathanson was there and JT Hodges - who I'd never heard of - and they were both awesome - esp with BTE. Fun weekend and slept damn near all of Masters Sunday trying to recover.

I thought Hangout last year was awesome

I heard they were good at Hangout. BTE played all the goodies and some new stuff too.

I am thinking maybe this was because this was the beginning of a new tour when they played hangout. Also some poster mentioned they basically play the same set list which would why they could seem not into as much.

They have always played the same set list for what tour they're doing

They were good in Atlanta, it was the first night of the tour though.

yup. for a band that started out fun and full of energy, they have really come a long way to achieve failure. I personally don't like much after their 3rd album, but even the songs I do like were boring this weekend. my wife loves all of their stuff, and she was unhappy with this show. They are trying so hard to be an arena rock band that they forgot what it takes to be a good live one
