The KOL hate is kind of crazy. I wasnt crazy about their last album, but it had a few good songs on it. Their three albums before that were solid. When the last one came out, it seems like they immediately got the Nickelback stigma.

I am not saying that they are my favorite band, but they have more than a few really great songs.

I'm with you on them. I don't give a shite what band other people like because honestly, I like a ton of stuff that gets bashed on (Nickleback excluded).

This wouldn't really be such a big deal if this weren't true:

Those first three were great, but the band has been paraphrased as saying they were pretty much tired of only being big in Europe, so they did what they had to do to break a million records.

Again, look at that chick, I ain't even mad. Three good records is two more than most bands ever put out. The point here is that they are purposefully alluding to going back to that whiskey rock sound, and I am on the fence as to whether I believe it or not.

I know dude I'm so crazy for not liking kings of leon

that came across dickish, but seriously other than a couple of catchy songs Im really not a bag fan and lost interest fast. it wasn't because I was just trying to be cool

Their sound changed a LOT from one album to another. They started deliberately writing pop rock and lost their edge.

They used to have swagger and soul. Not so much anymore.

Im not saying everyone should like them, but to place them in the nickelback tier after one not so good album is what i was referring to as crazy. I guess its just that the last one is what everyone remembers.

I will say that they arent a headliner-esque band, in America at least.

i certainly don't relate them with nickleback thats god tier suck

I just think they are kinda poppy now and maybe their crowd slants my view of them even more. Guess we will see soon enough what they are like live

They are still quite popular, but I think a lot of people got burnt out on them from constant radio barrage

It's been two albums now, they have five. The transition from 3rd to 4th was really dramatic. Think the Black Keys suddenly releasing an autotuned Bruno Mars cover album. The fourth record sold three times as many copies as any of the others, but the fifth couldn't match it. Not hard to imagine that they're trying to grab the last gasp of that radio audience while also getting their old fans to bite. I hope not.

whoa, I did not even realize that they realized one after Only By Night. Damn. Perhaps that is the missing link as to why I am giving them a pass...
