I thought he did fine as well. And a ballsy move to try to mimic the vocals other than lip sync as actors typically do.

Nah, it's a respectable rendition and sounds far better than you singing it at a karaoke bar. Also, I can't remember the context in the movie, but the Cash version has a LOT more accompaniment. Was it recorded to be used as a live version or early cut in the movie?

Of course it isn't as good as Cash, but that's hardly a surprise.

I didn't mean to sound so critical. It was respectable, but there is no style. It's a guy who can carry a tune and sing a bit. Not a musician/vocalist.
