I hear ya man. I've lived here in Jax for 27 years and they have never played here since I moved here. I know they played here on the Slavery tour a few years before I moved here, but not since. Nice arena here too. Sucks.

But it is even more effed up that they don't play New Orleans.

Hopefully I'll be working in one of the cities on this tour at the time they'll be there.

Yeah, but it's on a damn Wednesday. I guess I'll just drive the extra couple of hours to San Antonio on Saturday to catch them.

New Orleans Jacksonville both suffer from the same poor circumstances. Both are fairly large metro areas that just happen to exist within only a few hours of a handful of larger metro areas.

Jacksonville has to compete with Atlanta, Tampa, Orlando, and Miami, and New Orleans has to deal with San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, and Houston.

It really is bullshite for everyone caught in between.

I can understand why some major cities get overlooked for tours, but New Orleans at least offers a significant musical culture and scene and a unique quality unto itself that seems like it would be intriguing to most artists.

They haven't played New Orleans since the 80s. I don't expect them to ever come here.

Yeah this is pretty spot on. I'm used to it here but can't believe they never play New Orleans at all anymore.

Did not realize that. I feel lucky I saw them there in '85.

I'll be making a trip somewhere. Saw them in Houston in 2012 and went to Denver last April to catch The Book of Souls tour. I'm really glad they are coming back around again. You can get some cheap flights booking this far in advance. Take advantage and check them out at a new venue if you can. For selfish reasons, I hope they change the set list up a little.

How much of the set list comprised the first seven albums?

They played all the standards: The Trooper, Number of the Beast,Hallowed be thy Name (which they didn't play when I saw them in Houston), Fear of the Dark. But of course you will always get these at one of their shows. They threw a couple surprises in which were cool...Children of the Damned and Blood Brothers. Also five or six off the new album. I would just love to see Revelations, Phantom of the Opera, and a few others, but I don't look for them to change it up too much.

Kind of off topic but I was very disappointed when I saw them in 2010 in Chicago. Only old stuff was Hallowed, Fear of Dark and title track. I'm not as big of fan of the post FotD stuff so I was sad. Bruce was amazing though.

Hard for me to believe they didn't play The Trooper or The Number of the Beast.

Saw them in Charlotte in 2010 or 2011. It was the first American tour they had in a while and was the opening show of the tour.

It was one of the greatest musical experiences of my life.

Some drunk guy was stumbling around the crowd after the show and said, "man, I'm not even an Iron Maiden fan but that shite was frickin' epic."

I believe it was a tour that immigrated a tour they had in the early 80s. It was designed to only play early stuff.

Saw them in N.O. for powerslave and 7th son tours. Had to go to Houston the last two times I saw them.

Will be in h-town when they come in June.

They have added Exodus and Kamelot to the San Bernardino show. Hopefully this is a trend.
