I remember Hawthorn Heights being the biggest thing ever in 8th grade. When they came to the Varsity 4 years or so ago, I ended up going just to see if they still sounded good after their screamer died. The show was suprisingly awesome. "Ohio Is for Lovers" and "Saying Sorry" quickly grew stale for me back when I was a teenager, but I still love "Niki FM".

Yes he did. Hawthorne Heights released the album "Skeletons" in his memory. There's some moving songs in there, but most of it is pretty lame.

I never liked them simply for the fact that they were from Ohio.

Had a feeling it would be something along the lines of Hawthorne Heights. I was right there with you even saw them live with The Early November (really went for The Early November though). But man I listened to some God awful shite...like Skrillex's first band, "From First to Last", and some screamo crap like Showbread, Fear Before the March of Flames, and Thursday.

I still listen to some HS rock bands like Brand New, Minus the Bear (saw them last night), Northstar, and Manchester Orchestra...never get tired of those.
