young beautiful teenage girl, incredibly talented. Known her family for 50 years. I cheated her grandaddy out of money, and he also cheated me,,he gives his blessing in this venture. I have asked permission to post some of her videos, with the warning that crazy stuff might happen.

How do we do this?

Trust me..if she was at least 18, I would do it,anything to promote her. She just moved into the realm of even being teenage.

The wisest words I've ever read were:

If your kid grows up to not want to be famous, you parented right (or something to that effect)

The industry destroys kids. Keep her away and encourage her to be a successful person. When she's older and mature, that's when she can look to profit off her voice.

Seriously, it's a terrible business full of terrible people. I know; I used to work in it

ETA: I stand by what I say as well. My wife and I have been approached a few times by scouts trying to get my 13yo daughter to model. We both tell them frick no everytime. The money and fame are not worth her soul.

I think the OT would be a much better forum for this.

It's not my kid,and unfortunately her parents are already letting her go at it. posting videos on youtube,etc.. I wish that I can advise them on a good approach.

there is none. the only thing they can do is constantly try to instill in her the desire and drive to be a good person and to not compromise her integrity, and they have to hope it sticks.

You are right for sure..This kid has some things in her voice though...I can't imagine where it came from.

I don't claim to be a religious person whatsoever, I am a bit spiritual. When I hear her though, I always think " This Little Light Of Mine" and just maybe, this world needs it.

I have a friend with a son who is an extremely talented guitarist. He's had his own band since he was about 12. They've promoted him the right way by having him play small, local festivals and being very involved. They don't send him off to do the show. They are there with him helping him load in and out. He's about to graduate and go to college on a music scholarship.
