Help identifying an instrument

Music Board,
I recently saw Lord Huron and need your help identifying an instrument. In the concert, it looked like the band member was obstructing a stream of air flow with the palm of his hand...it essentially sounds like he's messing around with radio frequencies. I was sitting in the back and on the opposite end of the stage, but that is pretty much the best way to describe it.
You can hear it well at the 2:40-2:55 mark.
