Actually most small touring bands barely break even touring. Lots of nights they make just enough money to make it to the next city

you're not a fan of bands making their albums available for preorder?

Uh, no.

I spend enough money seeing their concerts. They have some of the highest grossing tours of the past five years and are all multi-millionaires.

I do support crowdfunding on certain projects, but a red dirt album isn't one of them.

You're not donating.....

You're buying the album. You can also buy other things that go towards the album.

A music fan recognizes crowdfunding as a necessary evil in the face of the collapse of the traditional music business. Especially for independent bands that don't depend on 360 deals from shady labels.

A music fan only buys from a Kickstarter campaign what he would have bought anyway — the new album, a t-shirt, a remix. It’s okay not to pledge, too, to remind a musician how capitalism works.

With that being said, American Aquarium has funded 70% of their goal in 2 days.

$35,000.
