i'll be forever grateful to have gone to the one year there was a decent lineup at that abortion of a festival

Went in 2011. They've never given me a reason to go back.

I'm also old, but have gone to Gulf Shores / Orange Beach the last three years so my kids could go (ages 17 to 20). Based on their reaction, I'm surprised to read all the negative comments. They all said it was the best line up yet. Guess the line up is more popular with the younger crowd.

I guess I'm officially old. This looks absolutely miserable.

Is it just me, or is this lineup worse than last year's?

Yes. It is horrible. I'm old though.

I had no idea who The Weeknd was and was surprised to see 300 million+ views on his youtube videos.

I guess avoiding mainstream radio will do that. I tend to stick to my Sirius XM stations and my weekly Discover Playlist that Spotify generates based on music that I actually listen to.

Florence, Cage, Silversun, Moon Taxi, and The Revivalist. Only bands I would enjoy seeing. And maybe Foals.

I'm 25 and dislike a lot of this lineup. Weeknd is pretty lame. Calvin Harris? Lolololololol

Fetty Wap? Gtfo

Alabama Shakes, Kurt Vile, Run the Jewels, Jason Isbell, Leon Bridges, Foals and Florence are who I'd like to see.

FOALS, RTJ, Barnett, Isbell. The rest is a big ball of meh. But this is where pop music has been going for awhile. This is catering to the Millenial crowd, and this is probably a lineup that excites their demographic.

I don't think it's awful, but it's not getting me off my couch.

Yep, I can't believe how bad this is

Think I went to like 3 of these in college because I had friends that had places to stay down the road. I try not to be a music snob, but this is beyond atrocious

If you like those bands, you will definitely like Portugal, the man.

except it's really not that bad, you're just behind the times.

Hangout has always been a "B" level festival and this year's lineup is no different. It's not going to suddenly become Coachella

I'll just say it again: who cares who the headliners are? If standing 300 yards away from a band and watching it on a projection screen is your thing... then great. I watched Foo Fighters at the big stage last year. They're arguably a great live act, but seeing it from that far back just kind of sucked. I also don't care enough about anyone to fight the crowd to get up close.

Most enjoyable shows I saw all weekend were at Hangout stage and Palladia stage. Some of the best ones I saw were bands I didn't even know or only knew loosely prior to seeing (the Districts, Floating Action, Misterwives, etc..). But I just like the chilled out vibe of those shows and getting to see (and often chat with) a bunch of those bands. Plus, we're often scouting and talking with some of the smaller bands to get them to play venues in the area.

tl:dr Headliners are for custies and rubes.
