It's probably better that someone fantastic doesn't replace Green Day, I'd rather not have little Chip in a field....

Yeah, I want to say a friend of mine saw them not to terribly long ago, and I'm pretty sure it was in New York.

Yeah, I guess "fantastic" is all relative. I'm sure everybody has their own idea of who and what is fantastic.

When it comes to music, it is certainly all relative!

I would consider Daft Punk a fantastic replacement, I assume you disagree?

I haven't heard of them playing in the US in awhile.

Jones-you know how far back you'd be if you showed up 30 minutes before for Daft Punk?

i would have to bring my glasses to be able to see them

i wouldnt mind being far away though. im really not into big festivals like that anymore(never really been into them at all actually). i watched tiesto in the amphitheater at ultra fest years ago on the front row with about 25 thousand people around me all rolling and whatever. F THAT.

I went from planet of the drums in a small tent with about 200 hundred people to that shite show with tiesto. my friend made a deal with me that she would go see all my dnb stuff for the week if i went to see tiesto with her. (she banged tiesto a few months before that and wanted to go see him )

I'm a fan of festivals. Looks like Daft Punk hasn't performed at a US festival since 2007 but have made a couple of surprise appearances (Grammy's w/ Kanye and MSG w/ Phoenix) in 2010. That's a long time, they are due here soon.

im more of a fan of a club setting or a theater with the drum and bass in a separate room. rip state palace. electronic music just sounds so much better in an enclosed place.

yea daft punk needs to come somewhere. im hoping they do a mini us tour sometime in the next year or two. maybe stop at houston so i can go see them

my prediction for the best sets at voodoo this year, in no particular order:

avett brothers
silversun pickups
mstrkrft guy
revivalists
anders osbourne

various others

no problem with most name

However, Gary Clark Jr. and Jack White will slay this festival.

not a huge fan but they're alright.

I can see why you're not a fan at all though. you have to pretend to "help out" when the bouncers at the Penthouse Club have to throw out the dudes who punch the strippers when Uprising is played.

Definitely better in an indoor setting. That's why I'd rather, at least, see Skrillex somewhere else first. I've never really enjoyed the electronic music acts at Voodoo, not because they weren't good, just not the right place. I went to the EDC in Austin a few years back and had a great time, but it still would have been better at the Palace.

Mike Patton just needs to call on the rest of Faith No More for Saturday since he will already be in town to play Sunday.

I LOVE the Smashing Pumpkins and they were so awful I left and got drunk in the Quarter to drowned my sorrows of how awful they were and how epically disappointing the show was!

Well, that's what you get for going to a teh B0lly concert and expecting to hear the Smashing Pumpkins.

One of the most annoying live acts I've ever heard. It's the pseudo-musical equivalent of bros. They ruined the break between QOTSA and NIN at the Katrina Voodoo.
