I've got a question about two specific open mics and about open mics in general.

At Jolie Pearl, and Brew Ha Ha, do a lot of college students in their 20s and 30s who just happen to play some keyboard or guitar frequent there? Or can you reccommend some better ones?

I'd also like some good general bars reccommended that host open mics while still allowing me to connect with other dudes who enjoy some great pop and rock from the 80s to today. I don't drink a lot, but I do like to drink.

I'm not just going to play, but to eventually meet a few guys who I can individually play some music with. This includes working on some original songs too. This means he would need to have a Windows computer with good recording software, and a good collection of keyboards and/or guitars himself.

This is all a little new to me and I'm just a little nervous. I wouldn't be if I were checking out an open mic held at Baton Rouge Community College, while also taking some classes there or a similiar place.

If you're looking for a young handsome man into 80s soft rock, hanging out, and playing video games, you should contact the poster Burt Reynolds on here

I hear he drives a van too so your mom won't have to drive you

I find it funny how you described Burt as a handsome man, when that's not even his real name, and NOBODY shows their picture here.

So, I'm not going to agree to go with anybody here. Maybe if I were on a board where the posters were more open to introducing themselves, and shared their profile page, or linked to their Facebook.

Also I find it funny how you are still categorizing my music as just "80s soft rock". When it covers a greater variety of decades, and a host of different styles, not just one style.

There's 80s dance-pop, 80s synthpop, 80s pop-rock, 80s ballads, some of the softer rock of the 90s, 90s singer/songwriter, 90s teen pop, whatever you'd categorize Celine Dion's 90s work as, American Idols like Kelly Clarkson, Daughtry, Adam Lambert, David Archuleta, David Cook, and Kris Allen, quite a few modern rock artists like Lifehouse, Dashboard Confessional, Jimmy Eat World, and others.

And keep in mind that the various artists I'm into go beyond me just playing the hits. I like to go into the deep album tracks.

"What is CCA? Capital City Alliance is a community organization dedicated to engaging, promoting, and advocating for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community in Baton Rouge. "

Your kidding right? You still think all synth and keys players are gay guys?

You do know that there are straight keyboard players out there.

And I can't have my parents take me to that. First, because it's way too out of the from where I live, and second, they don't even know I'm gay, and even if they did, they wouldn't feel comfortable taking me to that.

I don't even feel comfortable going to something like that.

I'd want to go to something that removes the lesbian and transgender part.

Into black metal? Can you play double bass at at least 170 bpm?
