Has anybody ever seen them live? Going to see them in August at The Bomb Factory in Dallas.

Only on youtube, and they sound tight. I will see them at some point with this tour even if I am required to travel.

I know a few on here have. Hopefully they can offer some insight. I'm seeing them for first time at ACL Live in Austin in August.

Yeah that is where I originally wanted to go see them.....But I didn't want to have to take more than a day off of work.

I've seen them 6 times live. Every show was great, and they always sounded awesome. I think I saw them once after Helplessness Blues was released. J Tillman always provided some comic relief in between songs, which was fun. It's sad that he's not part of the group any more, but he's doing well.

I'm kicking myself for this, but I saw them at Pitchfork Fest in 2008. It was one of my first times in Chicago so I wanted to see some of the city and only saw Caribou, Fleet Foxes and Vampire Weekend, then left.

This was the lineup for that day...

!!!
Animal Collective,
Atlas Sound,
Boban & Marko Markovic Orkestar,
Caribou,
Elf Power,
Extra Golden,
Jarvis Cocker,
Dizzee Rascal,
Fleet Foxes,
frick Buttons,
A Hawk and a Hacksaw,
The Hold Steady,
Icy Demons,
Jay Reatard,
No Age,
The Ruby Suns,
Titus Andronicus,
Vampire Weekend

Many of those bands were unknown to me at the time, but the bolded ones later became some of my favorite, and there are many others that in hindsight, I would like to have seen and still haven't. Ugh... and there was hardly anybody there! It was a small crowd at a small park for a festival.

Sorry to derail, just thought I'd share that story.

Saw them in '09 with their original lineup following their immaculate debut album. Was an amazing show.

Yep. It's crazy to think that I've never seen a live act where a member had later passed away. He would have been the first. Wish I would have seen him while he was still here.

Saw them a couple of times: Howlin Wolf in New Orleans in 2008 and at Austin City Limits some time after that. Great shows.

I remember passing on that show b/c it on a Sunday night or something and assuming I would get the chance to see them plenty of other times on the tour for that album. Was pretty pissed when they went on "hiatus" or whatever a few years later

I'm almost certain that if Fleet Foxes was slave to a corporate daddy, their most recent album would sound a lot different.
