That's rediculous. My American Standard Tele was less than that!

All have, a year ago the bumblebee EVH was $899
Then two months after Eddie’s death they went up to $999 and now just jumped up to $1149

$250 increase in a year

EVH is owned by fender

Pandemic demand is real.

quote:

Mooney also revealed to CNBC that Fender had recently conducted research that found there had been "16 million new entrants" picking up the guitar since the pandemic began. That's whopping 7% of the population. This unprecedented demand has had a direct impact on company's ability to meet it.

I suppose used ones will be ridiculously cheap soon, when all these millions of people falling over dead, switch over to harp playing.

Maybe if their luthiers wouldn’t waste time beating the shite out some guitars before bringing them to market they could put that time toward making more guitars.

That's a good point. Can you imagine seeing that job ad in the classifieds? Help wanted: looking for a destructive individual to take a wire wheel on a die grinder and frick up some beautiful new guitars. Union scale wages and benefits. Must be up to date on your shots.

I've said it before many times, but I HATE the faux distressed look, and REALLY hate when it's done to brand new guitars.

I like minimal finishing, where you can sand out a bad scratch and touch up with some stain if you want, but to put a nice paint job on one and then frick it up, seems crazy. It takes all kinds to make the world go round though.

And when they charge 2-3x the price for that.

check this one out. This is what happens, when you hire a wino to build your guitar.

Only Fender gear I have is an EVH 212. Got it right before I heard the news the same day he died.

Yeah, just giving you shite. I really appreciate your knowledge and the takes you give on here. Fact is, I'm probably responsible for about half of your upvotes, so don't piss me off, you need all the friends you can get.

I like teles for certain things, but I’ve never really liked strats. I love fender clean style tube amps as well as evh amps, though.

I absolutely adore high-end relic guitars. I will take a worn thin-skin nitro atop prime wood and an oil sealed neck trunk before a gooped-on poly finish atop Asian-farmed "profitwood" ALL DAY, EVERY DAY.

Here's one of my shop-fabricated relics I use for shop clients to demo my in-house pickups. I have about 10 total relics - all pickup test guitars - with five or so more demo axes in progress.
