Isn't this more accurately called, "The Amy Lee Experience, featuring the songs of Evanescence?"

I mean, she's already fired a couple of folks at each position at this point, right?

Hasn't been like that since after the first album?

Last album released was back in 2011 with a another released in 2016 (new song mixes).

Synthesis seems to have new and old songs on it.

I don't care how you feel about Amy Lee, she's one of the best female rock singers of all time.

I think just Moody left (and that was probably because of their prior relationship), then the others started getting set aside in ones and twos.

Only Lee and McCord have been in the band since before 2010.

From the Wiki:

quote:

The album will include reworked versions of the band's previous material with an orchestral arrangement and electronica music elements; in addition to rearranged tracks, two new ones were recorded for the project.

So, in 6 years, with neither Moody nor Balsalmo on guitar, this is the best they can do.

Don't get me wrong, I dig it - for what it is - crunchy early 00ish rock with a cute Goth chick out front, but calling this Evanescence is equivalent (although not as legendary of course) to calling whatever that was "GnR" from roughly 1996 until the current reunion tour.

I am not trying to sit here and say the 2011 album is anywhere as good as Fallen but the core sound is still there.

Saw they are playing with an orchestra here in Nola- clicked to see the price... $52-182

How they fill a theatre at those prices is beyond me

She's sitting at the kiddie table compared to the greats.

She probably crushed it in the school chorus 'tho, so I'll give her that...

They play up here in Irving the day before.

They still fill up those venues. Believe that.

Did Balsalmo go back to Cold? I saw them a few times back in the day. Always a good show.

Nope.

Amy's a good singer, but she has the vocal personality of someone who auditions for session work, not that there's anything wrong with that....
