I first heard them about 3 years ago, while hanging out with my brother-in-law Ian (British guy). Their sound caught me at once, and I have been a fan ever since. The music is beautiful, and the lyrics are deep and meaningful. Their music is my favorite to play on the guitar, as well.

What say you?

Really liked the Seldom Seen Kid album. Haven't listened to anything since though

If you like them I'm assuming you dig The Doves as well?

Oh man, do yourself a favor and give them a listen. If you like Elbow, you'll love Doves.

Black and White Town-Doves

Sky Starts Falling-Doves

Cedar Room-Doves

Thanks for the recommendation! I like what I hear from those 4 songs, especially the last two. Which album is considered their best?

They're all good. The songs I posted are from their first album to the Kingdom of Rust album. Just look at the info on you tube and it should tell you the album it's from.

Massive Elbow fan all the way back to Cast of Thousands. Amazing percussion on all albums. Hell, same with Doves...makes me think of "Pounding" immediately.

Think Elbow won a Mercury...which perhaps is a kiss of death.

Either way, fantastic group.

I have listened to about 20 songs from 4 albums. I love all but a few. Their sound changes greatly, not only album to album but song to song. They tend to have a little disco and punk fused into a few of their songs. I didn't care for those, but the others (16-17/20) were great!

I still prefer Elbow, though.
