Why don't they book comedians to play at the Varsity? I mean I'm pretty sure you could get some pretty good guys to fill that place. Obviously not big time names but some less known people would be cool.

That would be a good idea if they had more tables and chairs

I think they could do it with people just standing there. Most comedians only do about an hour or so. Would love to have a venue for touring comedians to come to in Baton Rouge.

People like to sit down for comedy shows.

What comedy show have you ever seen with people standing up?

I'm sure there are venues across the country similar to The Varsity that book comedians on a regular basis.

comedians don't like to go to music venues. aziz ansari is coming to new orleans but is gonna be at the mahalia jackson theater. it wouldnt make any sense for him to go to the house of blues

baton rouge just needs a better comedy club

well yea. Bigger names like Aziz can sell out bigger theaters. Im talking about not so big names. People that can come in and sell about 700 tickets compared to the over 2000 that Jackson holds.

also 100% that baton rouge could use a better comedy club. In fact the funny bone books such shitty acts I dont even count it as a real club.
