Well I want to talk about 90s death metal but no one here is into that. This board is for discussing Phish, Allman Brothers, and Tool. That's about it. You take what you can get.

Then talk about 90's death metal. You might get more responses than you expect.

Someone who posts with the primary intent of annoying people rather than in sharing in discussions.

They usually do so by starting threads with a baited premise designed to make people mad, insulting other posters with ad-hominems, and flaming valid discussions with nothing but catch-phrases so-as to stymie actual discussion and annoy fellow posters to get a response out of them.

I feel like there's a lot of that on this board simply because there's not enough traffic to keep discussion moving and interesting all the time. There's only like 1-2 dozen posters who post here regularly and only a half dozen or so who post frequently, so conversations tend to stall out and groupthink becomes the norm.

I'm all for people talking about various genres of music. If I'm not into the music I won't read it or I'll give it a listen if I've never done so to begin with. The problem, I think, lies in the fact that people feel the need to shite all over other people's musical taste simply because they don't like it and it becomes a revolving door of people hating on music due to their objective opinions.

I post a bunch of random stuff here but it tends to fall down the board quick unless it's isbell/sturgill (of my Americana interests)

Occasionally I'll get surprised.

The other day when I brought up jason Molina surprised me that it didn't get any chatter, unfortunately

#FACT - this board was run by a certain clique of posters, who kept it alive for the first few years. After a prolonged absence we are back baby.

Right up there with Neal Young and Bruce Springsteen.

I'll never understand why these guys are so heralded.

...and I'm willing to bet Kafka can go deep into the genre as well, FWIW.
