It’s better than it has any business being considering it’s 20 years past their creative peak. Some of it’s a little cheesy, but it feels so genuine and heartfelt. It’s really solid, but it’s also strange. I was listening to 92.3 in New Orleans yesterday, and they played three new songs from old pop punk bands:

“One More Time” by Blink 182
“Landmines” by Sum 41
“The American Dream is Killing Me” by Green Day

I was like “What Year is It?”

Turpentine is the best song they’ve recorded in a very very long time. Whole album is 8/10 IMO and deserves to be put alongside their best albums or close to them

Albums surprised me how good it was considering how long it’s been since the trio put out a good album. (Probably in the minority but I very much enjoyed Nine)

Only problem that I have with the album is that drums could be a little too loud in the mixing and they only have 1 standout riff in dance with me

It’s a fun listen. Seems to highlight their many side projects and Blink style over the years. It’s the return to Blink album fans have been waiting for.

Cons include overproduced vocals, too simple of lyrics (even for Blink standards), and the drums seem artificially sped up. I know Travis is fast but a few songs seemed way sped up.

Dunno I saw them up at MSG and Travis is still very capable of those speeds, and he’s a known work horse in a studio. I do agree with some over production however. That’s everything these days I guess

72 Seasons outsold the new Blink this year, but it debuted at #2

Congrats to Blink anyway, there was a lot of hype about the reunion-reunion album

Travis produced the album. He’s one of the top drummers in the world, so I have no doubts about him being able to play that fast. Travis’s production does feel a little overkill at times. Travis also produced songs for a lot of the “new school” of rappers turned pop punk artists like Mod Sun and Machine Gun Kelly. Their tracks are produced very similarly, so it’s just Travis’s style.

He's better at producing Blink than John Feldmann, but those Mod Sun & MGK albums are trash
