Quadrophenia The Who

1973.

I guess I should have said Quadrophenia (Soundtrack) was released in 79. Its a bit different than the 73 release.

I gotta say..."In the Evening" is one hell of an opening track.

...and it was all downhill from there.

Here are a few I had in my collection and enjoyed:

Boomtown Rats - "Fine Art of Surfacing"
The Stranglers - "The Raven"
The Jam - "Setting Sons"
Molly Hatchet - "Flirtin' with Disaster"
ZZ Top - "Deguello"
Lene Lovich - "Lucky Number"
Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers - "Damn the Torpedos"
Pink Floyd - "The Wall"
The Clash - "London Calling"
Queen - "Live Killers"
Nick Lowe - "Labor of Lust"
The Kinks - "Low Budget"
The Police - "Regatta de Blanc"
Neil Young & Crazy Horse - "Live Rust"
The Who - "The Kids are Alright"

I don't know if I can pick a "best". Some very influential albums of that year are as follows:

The Specials-The Specials
The Clash-London Calling
Gang of Four-Entertainment!
Joy Division-Unknown Pleasures
Buzzcocks-Singles Going Steady
The Cure-Three Imaginary Boys

Should I go on?
