How does it stack up to Spotify wrt library, audible differences in sound quality, app UI & functionality, curated playlists, etc? Worth your $20? General comments or feedback?

Been using it for about a month. I am running it through a $100k+ audio rig, so I do notice the difference in the higher sampling/bit rate (16bit/44.1k).

For me--worth the extra $10/mo.

Go to the Audiophile/Vinly long thread on this board and go to page 3--you will see my main rig. It is in my home with two other systems.

Yep, if you don't have a high quality system then you won't notice a difference.

What happened with that service Neil Youngs company was developing? Wasn't it gonna be 24bit/192k?

It's called Pono and it does offer 24/192. As of now, I don't think it is as extensive as TIDAL and I believe that you must use his interface, but I may be wrong on that.

I think it may even offer a few DSD and DXD file streams (which are on par with SACD), but, in my personal experience, once I get past 24/96, I can no longer hear sonic differences. They are there, but my ears are 42 years old and can't detect the difference above that.

I can, however, detect differences among MP3, 16/44.1, and 24/96--but again, it is usually through audio rigs cape able of letting those differences show themselves.

Oh, no doubt. MP3s sound like they got put in a vice and squeezed until all the life in the music is gone.
