He's kind of the British "punk" Bob Dylan. I put them in the same category because I like both of them, listen to both of them, recognize their contribution and influence on later musicians, but I do not think of either as highly as the general consensus.

I felt this way about her long before she met Elvis Costello. I would like to say frick ELVIS COSTELLO for 1.) Denying her the chance to meet and become Mrs. LuckySo-n-So; and 2.) RUINING her career by making her think she could sing pop music. Ugh. If she comes within 10 hours' drive of Baton Rouge, I'll usually go see her in concert, but I'm not going to see her in New Orleans this fall because her new album SUCKS. frick you Elvis Costello. Just frick you.

Enormous fan. Started listening to him at around age 12 thanks to an Uncle of mine. Costello is amazing. I remember getting booted from chemistry class because I had my earbuds laced into my jacket and the professor heard "Watching the Detectives" playing.

Costello is great and his music covers a lot of styles. I've seen him live in various versions, including the Attractions and solo. Funny, I've become even more of a fan these days.
