Maybe I'm biased, as it was released on my 5th birthday (my sister never let me forget that fact) but it has GOT to be their most underrated album...both lyrically and musically.

I forget that it's more or less a concept album. These songs rock, every last one of them.

I really, really love this album.

Great album! This was always my favorite from Floyd. With "Wish You Were Here" a close second. "Dogs" is the shiznit!

Big fan since I was a wee lad. It has that creepy Roger Waters undercurrent of violence and foreboding, it's kind of a tough listen if you aren't a big fan I'd think. Some of Gilmours best work too although it feels like a waters project like The Wall does. Most big Floyd fans revere this album in my experience.

I should hope so. My friends never got into them growing up...i was lucky to have older siblings to show me the light.

Well, maybe someone here knows...

Is Roger saying:

"Pink band, Pig man"

Or

"Pink man, Pig man"

I was always taught the former, but the webz say the latter?

My favorite PF album. When I lived in NY as a kid, my friend's older brother used to play this on his portable 8-track player (lol) every day while we played street hockey. I loved it, but my dumb arse never thought of asking what band we were listening to.

Fortunately, about a year later, I stumbled across Animals on my own, and immediately recognized where I'd heard it from. I guess the album was destined to find me, lol...

I hope the setlist for Roger Waters' upcoming tour is kinda similar to his Desert Trip setlist, b/c it was pretty heavy on the 'Animals' material...

My fav Pink Floyd album by far.

Not with people that like PF, it gets lost because they have so much good stuff out there. Its one of my favorites.

I am pleased to see that at least one source ranked it #3 of all PF albums, I assume behind TW and DSotM, since WYWH was #4.

One of my favorites as well....so damn good. Brit Floyd is playing here this summer and I'm seriously considering going. Anybody seen them? They look like they put on good show.

I've seen their vids on youtube, I would love to see them...their sound is incredible-I hope it's not tracked.

As well as performing the favourite moments from The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, The Wall and The Division Bell, Brit Floyd will also pay special tribute to the Animals album, in its 40th anniversary year, with a show stopping rendition of ‘Dogs’, as well as a host of other Pink Floyd musical gems.

OK, yeah. I'm there.
