Another Ticket (1981) - I haven't listened much to this album, so I can't say much about it. "I Can't Stand It" is a very good song tough.
Money and Cigarettes (1983) - This is a very good album, and sounds much like EC's 70's albums. "I've Got A Rock And Roll Heart" was the top hit, but "Aint Going Down" and "Man Overboard" are both catchy as well.
Behind the Sun (1985) - A transitional album for EC. The sound overall drifts toward a more pop feel, and you can tell the influence of Phil Collins who collaborated with EC. Standout songs include "Same Old Blues", "She's Waiting", and the great guitar song "Forever Man".
August (1986) - This albums continues the transition of the previous album with pop-sounding songs like "Run" and "Bad Influence". "Tearing Us Apart" with Tina Turner has great guitar solo, and of course "It's In The Way That You Use It" was in the movie "The Color Of Money".
Journeyman (1989) - EC's best album of the decade. Great rock songs like "Pretending" and "Bad Love" and great blues songs like "Old Love".

I am a big Clapton Fan,but for the most part,I think he is best playing with others, and not just having it all about himself.
No doubt, he has had some great songs, that just carry his name as an artist,Wonderful Tonight,Lay Down Sally (one of my favorite guitar songs ever),Tears In Heaven.. Like him better though when he is playing with somebody else.
It seems like he has a great time when he does that.

The best thing he does is pull folks together in the Crossroads Festival. He so widely respected (justifiably so), that when he calls everyone comes.
Just a fantastic deal. Plus the respect he has for his roots, BB, JJ, etc.
