Which Swedish metal band do you prefer.

Both are pretty legendary.

Name your favorite songs and albums.

In Flames hasn't put out anything good in over 10 years so Amon Amarth by default.

I would have to agree. Last In Flames album I really listened to was Come Clarity.

I love In Flames.

Have rarely listened to Amon Amarth

I do agree with Senor' Brosefs comment about In Flames releases, I just have for the most part moved on from this kind of music so that worries me not much.

Amon Amarth

They opened for Mayhem Fest in 2014 and I was pleasantly surprised by how good they sounded. Sadly, there were only about 100 people in attendance for their performance because everyone else was viewing bands on the smaller stages.

Honestly, there is little variation in their sound.

As for In Flames, I have never been a fan of the melodic death metal scene/Gothenburg. I prefer the more traditional Swedish death metal bands such as At The Gates, Entombed, Bloodbath, and of course the might prog giant that is Opeth.

I must admit that I have only listened to Blackwater Park in its entirety once. Now with that being said, I just don't see where it's one of the five greatest metal albums of all-time as most people tout it to be.

Hell, I don't even know if it's my favorite Opeth album.

Then again, Mikael Aferfeldt has the Midas touch when it comes to music. Every project he has been involved with has been outstanding.
