I disagree, see Slash and Myles Kennedy.
Audioslave was great in their heyday.
Chevelle has made some great music.
Cage the Elephant, The Black Keys, and The Racounteurs have all been a breath of fresh air.
Jack White, both solo and in the White Stripes, has been outstanding.

There's still good rock music being made, it's just much much harder to find these days.

The musical influence of those bands is negligible at best. The best music being made today is still based on influences from the 60's through the 80's. Their major influence is how to get rich with uninspiring music by pretending to be edgy.
