With Amazon Prime music, can you download songs for offline playing like Spotify?

How is their music selection in comparison to Spotify?

you should be asking how is it to google music. cause thats what i have and what i want to know.

I have a seven year old nano that is never taken out of my car. I prefer to just sync it with my iTunes. I'm not poor.

Your eight cent bullshite does not account for other monies paid to the artist. If the artist wants to self-publish and can market the music, I would be happy cutting out the label.

I rejoice at this the way i rejoiced when napster came out. This forces musicians to make money the old fashion way...concerts. Then people will see all the auto-tuned, computer-made artists for what they are. Fake and truly untalented.

Not really, auto tune is in common use in live shows today.

I agree. I like CD's. I'm not a big fan of streaming.

Do services like Pandora and Spotify pay few royalties for Live songs? Just curious because Pandora sure plays no shortage of them.

Then enlighten me. Are there streams available at CD quality or higher? I'm truly ignorant on the subject because everyone I've tried in the past sounds like shite.

you can download anything from google all-access to your phone by hitting the 'thumbtack' icon next to the song or album.

google stores everything at 320kbps which is about as close to lossless as you can achieve.

i source everything from FLAC and i'm very happy with having it encoded to 320 when driving around in my car

i just answered right above you.

lossless is lossless and compressed is compressed.

if you can truly tell the difference between 320 and FLAC i would LOVE to meet you.

now, depending on your data connection, the streaming quality could be reduced.

in the case of google at least, they're very VERY good (too good) at grabbing your entire queue and caching it while you're on WIFI or LTE so there's a huge huge buffer going on and almost no chance of playback hiccups.

pandora gonna pandora. their quality is 'meh' but they're also listing to port. they may be the next 'big' internet company to go under.

Yep, and I like listening to albums as a whole. I know it's weird but I like to take in one album at a time. I use my phone for audio books and podcasts.

ETA ... I also like having the physical copy or the album and read through the book.

no offense, but do listen to any digital music not from a CD?

you can rip your entire CD collection as lossless to your PC, then point google music to it and have access to all your music from any phone or PC anytime.

albums you simply HAVE to have a copy of, just hit the 'download' button.

its all free.

google lets you upload up to 20,000 songs of your private music collection.

Yes. I buy from HDtracks.com. I also have shitty MP3s that I will listen to before buying an album. I'm on the road all the time so I just pop in the store any buy the cd. I don't have the time or energy to dedicate to ripping my cd collection.

my CD collection is in boxes in the back of my closet.

i haven't cracked it open in years.

yet every track of every CD i own is at my fingertips anywhere..anytime..anyplace.

a small price to pay was the one time ripping process to get everything digitized.

i do the same with DVDs/BD disks. who wants to be stuck in 1995 building shelves for a bunch of shite to clutter your living room when that can live on a hard drive somewhere in your house?

You're right. It takes about 10 seconds. Now I have to figure out what I'm going to do with all this time I've been wasting.

my rule of thumb:

- staff picks - always FLAC (mmm juicy upload credit)
- music i'm not sure i love - V0
- music i love - FLAC
