But NIN should be added before that

I love NIN and had their bumper sticker on my car in 1995 but they aren't quintessential 90's sound. They are their own sound born from 80's industrial post-goth.

STigers just texted me 4 non-blondes "what's going on" but I am declining this submission. My objectivity only goes so far.

I disagree

Pretty Hate Machine released in 1989
So everything they did from that point is 90’s and it’s a lot
I agree with them having their own sound. To me that is exactly why they need to be added. NIN is the 90’s
I did not downvote that post. But I will if you don’t add

I've stated in this thread multiple songs I'm putting songs on there despite the fact I hate them, but they were perfectly representative to the time and the 90's sound.

#25 has been rounded out with Buddy Holly - Weezer. One of the first suggestions back on Page 1.

Now we begin argument phase where you make a case for Song X to be replaced by Song Y.

I'd add Friends in Low Places, Any Man of Mine, and Enter Sandman but not sure what they'd replace

And add Sonic Youth
already added to my list

The first portishead album was solid.

Sneaker pimps annoy me. All the songs sound the same and 6 underground has been played to death.

I can only handle so much grunge as well. I wore that out in the early 90s and now I can't really stand it.

Great job. I'm not going to be able to play by the rules (I won't take anything off... I will let you judge).

I'm just flinging shite to see what sticks.

Temple of the Dog: hunger strike
Indigo Girls: Galileo
Tom Petty: into the great wide open
The Black Crowes: hard 2 handle
The Offspring: Come Out and Play
Silverchair: tomorrow
Candlebox: you

Those are the ones I don't think have been mentioned yet

It's because let me ride is a rip of Parliament's Mothership connection. It's not a 90's song, it's a 70's with new lyrics...

Parliament's Mothership connection

But as close as that one is to Mothership, it's nothing compared to G-Thang. He just didn't take a bite of I Want'a Do Something Freaky To You, he ate the whole dang sandwich.. (Which makes the scene in Straight outta Compton where he's trying to work the melody out on the organ even funnier...)

If you’re truly going to have a 90s mix tape, you have to put at least one song on there from the zenith of Christian rock.
