Animated series are cheaper, more efficient than real life productions. The material would be more in line with book material. Grrm could oversee the entire process.

It cracks me up how people are actually acting like Feast & Dance weren't a drop in quality compared to GoT, Clash, & Swords.

Also, I love how the majority of the main story lines ended up in the same place as in the books, yet some people still act as if the show is now some radically different alternate universe.

If it's good, sure. That said, I find it very hard to believe the story would be as compelling. Emotions just don't really come across the same way. For example, despite the fact that it's a comedy show, I think Archer's character would be extremely unlikeable if it wasn't animated.

Just watch Berserk.

Eta: I'd be down for a wildcards animated series but I doubt most that only know Martin from the hbo series know that series of books. ..even though there are more than a dozen.

Completely agree. Some of the book readers are having issues separating the 2 mediums...and having memory loss from remembering how boring most of Feast and Dance were.

The only storyline that really blew was Dorne...and to be honest Dorne sucked in the books anyway.

As much as Brienne annoys me the show has slightly improved her boring arse plot.

Jon & Cersei had great storylines in S5.
