The grandkids are sleeping over tonight and they insisted on watching Sharkboy and Lavagirl. OMG this is the worst movie I've ever seen. What is your worst?

Tried to watch Dumb and Dumber To again earlier and, yeah it's still up there

Year one is high on this list

Mission to Mars with Don Cheadle playing an astronaut. First movie I ever walked out of.

Kid movies and B movies are a special kind of bad. Like Sharknado, that's supposed to be bad to a degree of funny.
For all it's heinous treatment of canon and spirit of a franchise, a toss up between The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker.

"Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes"
"Plan 9 From Outer Space"
Really, so many horror type "B" movies from the 50's and 60's that are so cheesy they deserve honorable mention.

It really depends on how good the source material is. This was a fricking abortion and outrageously offensive given how good the source material and often called one of the greatest animated series of all time.

While some of the movies you are mentioning are bad, I don’t feel the appreciation for how bad sharkboy and lava girl really is. My kids are watching it right now and it really is the worst.

Cats.
It fails at literally every thing it set out to do. It completely misses the point of the story from the get go, adds a main character that is so bland and pointless you have no idea why you are following her around, rearranges the music so poorly that it makes almost all the actors sound like shite, b/c of the way it was shot the backing music is unable to stay in time for nearly every number making most of dance numbers incredibly dull, and the special effects are so god awful that most people forget how poorly the musical parts of the movie were done.
The movie was so bad I went and watched the stage version that was released in the 90s to figure out why it was so popular and was stunned at how much better the Broadway version was.

Sharkboy and Lavagirl was written in a weekend. The really bad movies are ones the filmmakers thought would be good but turned out to be a disaster.

I have yet to see Cats, but this film does indeed look truly unbelievably awful and the people making it presented as if it would actually be in consideration for Best Picture. That is the sign of a truly awful film.

I confess, my knowledge of this genre of movies is absent. I can't say , either way, so I'll leave that to your discretion.
Having grown up on SW though, I am comfortable in my assessment of TLJ. And no, I didn't even see TROS.

This is an easy one. Garbage Pail Kids Makes Shark boy and Lavagirl look like the princess bride.

Unless you are teaching a class on everything to avoid when doing an adaptation I wouldn't waste my time. It's really shocking that Tom Hooper thought he was going to get a best picture nod and it actually annoys me that the CG was so bad that he was able to fall back on that as an excuse for why it failed.
