Do Witchers age normally, or slowed down? First episode of season 2 was great.

Someone has already answered, I think, that their aging slows down. Yennefer is asked by Tissaia in S1E8 if she is ready to die. Yennefer says that she has already lived two or three lifetimes already...

Mages and Witchers have slowed aging, except for an early death by cause.

I wonder how long it took Geralt to age from a boy to his current state of age?

Yeah I believe the S1 timeline for Yennefer and Geralt spans across like 80-100 years

Why did Yenn get her chaos back? I know they said it was her sacrificing herself for Ciri, but why did that do it? Was she blocking herself, ie fear of how powerful she could be? Was she being blocked by chaos itself until she humbled herself showing she could be responsible?

They didn't explain it, but I assumed her chaos came back as a result of the demon entering Yen's body.

Yep. Felt like an explanation would have been nice.

In episode 7 (Voleth Meir) of season 2, Jaskier takes off his shirt to wash off or bathe after being freed by Geralt from prison. He is wearing a chain with what appears to be a tuning fork and another chain with a ring/band.

Other than the tuning fork for pitch relating to his music, does anyone have an idea or explanation as to what the ring is for? Is it from the novels or does he wear them in real life when not filming?

Image of Jaskier wearing the two chains.

I know I started the OP but been busy and finally finished it. This is not an adaptation of Blood of Elves and if viewed as such it kinda sucks. If viewed as a reboot it’s pretty good television.

there's some scenes this season with Ciri where i feel like she's a 13-15 year old and there are some scenes where she's very clearly 20.

Freya Allen was amazing as Ciri this season I thought. In fact almost all the acting and casting would be one of my highest praises.

A few further thoughts… I know Blood of Elves is probably the most dialogue heavy action free book in the whole saga so to keep the show going for most people more action was needed. I just don’t think they did a good job. First off the one major fight scene from the book they did adapt only they changed it to the temple from oxenfurt which is fine whatever. It’s just a terrible fight scene and all the ones from season 1 were better. Who thought the slow motion stuff was a good idea should be fired. I understand they wanted an over arching villain so they created voleith whatever but it was fricking dumb and doesn’t work. Riance could’ve been that role with the revelation at the end of s2 being his real motivation he is an acolyte of Vilgefortz. Also it was stupid to reveal the white flames identity this early and it was only shown in the final book for a reason so it makes me conclude they’re changing his book plans in so much as I see them taking a Witcher 3 ending not the book ending which is fine idc the ending isn’t the best part of these books. I am happy they did manage to more or less frick Cahir into the right place in the most round about way possible. Again, if viewed as a reboot or alternate timeline of the universe it’s good maybe top tier. If the two seasons are viewed as adaptions, which they never stop bragging about, it’s a massive failure.

I don't know if this was already addressed and it's not the biggest detail but the face shifting weirdo Cahir hired in season 1 did he kill him in that tavern or did he escape? He mentioned when shifting to Ciri that he saw her power.

I'm also struggling with another season 1 minor detail in the first episode when Stegobor was trapped in that tower why didn't he just portal back to Aretuza? Knowing how powerful he is he could've easily taken down Winfrey. Or did he need to cover his tracks and have someone else kill her?

The Doppler Cahir used was never confirmed dead he just killed everyone in the tavern. You should know Frangila and Cahir are two of the most drastic book changes he would’ve never hired a serial killing child eater to find Ciri. And Frangila fought for Nilfgaard because she was Nilfgaardian.

As far as the lesser evil adaptation the show doesn’t relay too well Stregebor is a coward and deathly afraid of Renfrey who is talented and able to withstand magic. He’s save in his tower but could get caught out if he attempted to return to ban ard. They both attempt to have Geralt kill the other, Renfrey actually tells Geralt what she plans to do before fricking him but he doesn’t realize it until the next morning. She starts to threaten to kill every person in town until Streghebor comes down but he would have let them all die. Geralt is forced to intervene.
