People get butthurt when others bring up the 2016 stuff, but can someone name a year in recent history in which so many high profile people died? Admittedly, some of these celeb deaths shouldnt be a shock (probably this one) but i really don't understand all the hasty sarcasm.

This year stands out because of Prince and Bowie (both of which who kept their ailments a secret). Fisher and George Michael were surprises because they kept their health issues to themselves as well. Reynolds was ancient but her proximity to her daughter's death makes it a surprise for some.

Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, and Jim Morrison all died within a year of each other. That seemed like a huge death year. But they were all heavily abusing drugs, and the rest of the celebrity deaths around then seem pretty rational.

Here's a short list of some of 2015's deaths:

Actors:
Christopher Lee
Maureen O'Hara
Leonard Nimoy
Robert Loggia
Yvonne Craig
Omar Sharif
Wes Craven
Rod Taylor
Alex Rocco
Louis Jourdan
Wayne Rogers

Roddy Piper
Taylor Negron
Patrick Macnee
Anne Meara
Judy Carne
Dean Jones
James Best
Mary Ellen Trainor
Geoffrey Lewis
Donna Douglas
Ron Moody
Geraldine McEwan
Martin Milner
Rick Ducommun
Darren Shahlavi
Anita Ekberg
Amanda Peterson
Melissa Mathison
Theodore Bikel
Betsy Palmer

Musicians:
B.B. King
Natalie Cole
Lemmy Kilmister
Leslie Gore
Ben E. King
Percy Sledge
Scott Weiland
Allen Toussaint
Cory Wells
Gary Richrath
Lynn Anderson
Chris Squire
James Horner

if you have to tell people who he was, is he considered a "star"?
