I never quite understood why the Batgirl costume didn't have nipples yet Batman's and Robin's did.

Yeah, he really set a precedent for superheroes wearing black rubber. I was glad when the more recent X-Men movies got away from the tire tread look a little. I think the Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy have shown that the color spectrum doesn't detract from entertainment value.
