Why Does Jim Leahy's Act Never Get Old?

Watching the new season of TPB now and I can't understand how a character with basically one "schtick" not only never gets old, I still laugh my arse off as if it's the first time I've ever seen Leahy go full "I am the Liquor." It's remarkable.
I know Dunsworth does all of his a acting sober, and is a real actor, but this guy should get 10 Emmy's for the performance he puts on. It truly is one of the greatest comedic performances ever.
