Honestly the only people I truly care to see alive are Jon, Tormund, Bronn, Hound, Tyrion, Varys, Brienne just to see the children her and Tormund make, and Jaime.
The Others can take the rest.
If Jaime becomes the hero or ultimately wins in the end, he will have the greatest story arc of anybody in any story that I can remember.

Since the beginning I have wanted it to be Bran, but I think his story is a bit too complicated for something as simple as sitting on a throne

I don't want anyone to win it. I love the idea of the walkers winning because humans were too preoccupied with their little power games to take the threat seriously.
