The departed, good fellas, the untouchables, and the godfather are all better imo

I don't think it ranks very well. It was entertaining, but in 2 or 3 years I will have forgot all about it. You should also put Donnie Brasco on your list of gangster movies to be ranked.

It doesn't deserve a mention, in any capacity.

That movie was so bad, I only remember one scene from it, and that was the dinner scene. Granted that was an incredibly tense and well acted scene

I like Black Mass, but there is no chance in hell I would rank it with the all time greats. There are lots and lots of great, unforgettable gangster movies, and Black Mass, even though it's a decent movie, isn't one of them.

I would rank it below Run All Night

Blackmass would be at the bottom of the list just above Depps Dillinger....That was the worst by far.

The director managed to get flat performances out of decent actors. The whole move was just flat from start to finish despite a few shootout scenes.

Black Mass was such an underwhelming movie. After reading the whitey biography, they could have made it so much better. It was pretty boring IMO

it wasnt until this thread that I realized I have fallen asleep about an hour into this movie the 3 times I've sat down to watch it. I have also gotten up and walked out of the room without pausing it.

I would guess it ranks pretty low.

I think it's definitely below Kill the Irishman. I actually really liked that movie.

All the movies listed in OP are all-time classics (except for The Untouchables, which IMO is very overrated).
