What was your best picture of 2015?

For me it was clearly Sicario. Spotlight was very good so I'm not completely angry. However, I'm very disappointed that Sicario was not nominated.

Not nominated but Steve Jobs
Much better than Spotlight, Room or The Revenant

Toss up between Spotlight, The Revenant, or The Martian.

Just finished deadpool and sitting here thinking that it should definitely be in running

Such a good movie, almost completely ignored.

Ex Machina should have gotten a nomination

1) Ex Machina
2) Room
3) The Martian
I think "The Martian" isn't getting the appropriate amount of love because it was super mainstream, but it was great. No all time great movies this year, but about 10 very good ones.

I for one didn't think the Martian was all that great. It was a good movie, just not near the top for me this year. But I do agree with rest of your post. No classics this year, but a bunch of very good movies

I'd go with with Sicario too.
I enjoyed The Martian the most, but I wouldn't say it was the best.

The Martian
Revenant
I loved Sicario but just wish it was longer. Thought Room was good too

This. Probably Big Short third. I enjoyed the heck out of that movie. Martian would be third. I still haven't seen the Revenant......
"Booooooooo Freauxzen!"

I thought it was such a bad year...
The only movie I watched twice was "Mr. Holmes"...
So I guess that should have won best picture IMO.
Honorable mention to "Goodnight Mommy."
Ex Machina would be #3
Foxcather #4...
Maybe It Follows #5 to round it out.
1. Mr. Holmes
2. Goodnight Mommy (2015 US release)
3. Ex Machina
4. Foxcatcher (I saw it late on the 2015 release)
5. It Follows
Those are the only movies that stick with me as being memorable and so well done.
